Training Allowance

training allowance May 11, 2012
I am from the Philippines and was recently offered a job in Dubai.
However, the employer says that I have to undergo training for 3 weeks with AED50 allowance daily.
The normal salary package will start after the 3 week training. The company will shoulder my accommodations while I am in training.

Is it normal practice for companies in Dubai to only provide allowance and no salary during training?
What is a reasonable daily allowance?

I have over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry and I felt that I should be paid the normal salary from the start and not after training. Am I being unreasonable?

you already here in Dubai sir? what hotel or company were you employed? tell you 50 aed is already a decent per day but in my opinion, once you have started to sign a contract in that company when you are here in dubai already, they are bound to obey what is on the labor law unless they are a freezone company.
