dubai is like burj al arab ......its beautifull from the outside and from a far everybody likes to be in ... and there are somany who pays alot just to get in .... but once your in ... you go .... ok then ??? .... or "maybe" ... "thats it ?????" the best advice would be ... MOVE TO DUBAI IF the Move has Great financial advantage .... dont move because of adventure ... coz there is none... you guy would probbly end up doing what we all are doing .... work our ass off .. then stay at dubai forums ... and waste all our money on shopping and clubbing so that we forget how boring this fcking place is ..... why do you think prostitutes male / female, CLUBS/BARS are making so much money here... there are so much hotels and clubs and prostitutes for a small country and all are making money !!! see 70% of dubai is lonely and 30 % are just horny and drunk... we are here for cash period ... cause if we are rich or we have a better paying job at home we wouldnt be here at the first place ... I was joking !!! ..Anyway I am not fluent in English so May be my words some times Misunderstood . I should be very carefull about what I write from now on.
I respect my husband so very much and I always do what we both want . we used to discuss everything about our life and our future and we believe that marriage is about sharing everything . I never push him to do anything he does not like .
When I asked about any tips of making him an advanturer I was joking and trying to add some fun to the post that is it .
He was the one who told me about working in Dubai . We were trying to discuss the positive and the negative issues about moving there .

We would like to move to Dubai to improve our financial situation . we had enough adventures when we were in 20ss. Now it is time to think about making a family , but to be able to have a children you need to have an extra budget than paying your bills and your home loan .

I'm a college student in the United States and will soon be going to medical school here, and was wondering what an average physician's salary would be for an American citizen in Dubai. I might be jumping the gun as it will be at least 8-10 years until I complete my medical training/residency and I could easily change my mind, but I increasingly see myself wanting to live somewhere else.

Everything I have ever heard about Dubai makes it sound unbelievable and ideal for someone in my position. My parents are Indian and are basically the only family I have in the US, so after they're gone I would want to be closer to my family in India, yet still in a modern, liberal, Western environment since I only speak English and understand a little Hindi. (And what better than a place with islands shaped like palm trees, the world's tallest skyscraper, the world's only 7-star hotel, and no income tax?)

The only reservations I have are about the quality of primary and secondary education (when I have kids) and about some of the earlier posts about racism and tensions between Indians and the locals. Should I be concerned even though I was born in America and have lived my whole life here?

Considering how rapidly the city has grown, who knows what will happen in the next ten years...but I would really appreciate any input...

I am in medical filled now , trying to finish residency as soon as possible and then planing to jump to work in Dubai coz Physician's salaries are little bit more than Usa salaries BUT you almost pay no txes in Dubai so that is a plus ,
and above all I will be more close to my original culture but still holding the good well organized western system .
I advise you to go step by step ...try now to finish your medical school and then surely you will find a good opportunities all around the world

Yes, I would think that 45-50K is acceptable for a doctor or dentist, but in Dubai / AD / UAE (as a whole) there is not much that will pay remotly close to that.

I am Canadian and have a job offer in Sharhah. They say that company will provide employment visa. Won't I need my education credentials attested?
Also, "car provided by the company including insurance and maintenance. However, any charges due to accident/damage would be my responsibility"
From previous posts on blood money for accidents, I imagine this could get quit expensive. How much extra is this insurance?
Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Blood money should be covered by insurance (check the policy) unless you're drugged or drunk.

not in your wildest dreams--and what u hear about salaries being 2x or 3x compared to us is just somebodies imagination.
maybe for some professions and some special persons who are in demand--they can demand and do get what they want.
unfortunately medicos arent in that category.besides the many western expats who seem to be drawn here there are a whole lot of highly trained and specialised indian/arab docs who do as good a job as the uk/us/ausdocs. and since they are not paid a lot in a job situation back home they dont demand too much in dubai.in between are the south africans who get paid less than the western docs as in their place also the salaries are not as high as uk/us etc.
of course as of now the high cost of living in dubai dictates that even the south asian/arab docs require a certain minimum to survive in dubai which would close the gap between them and the western docs.however,if the western docs also demand a increase it becomes bad business sense cos the clinic or hospital cant indiscriminately increase patient service charges.
and as a last resort they may let the western doc go in favour of a south asian/arab doc who will be less cost to the company and provide comparable service.
i wonder why we come here to work? for me it was to be closer to my roots as well as a less scary environment to practice in.BUT DEFINITELY NOT MONEY cos even with no tax and other incentives it is still better money wise in us.uk i dont know--i think its about same saving if ure there or in dubai. ditto for mainland western europe,aus canada.nz and south africa i think there is better saving and for indians and arab expats also reasonable saving and above all increase in standard of living and quality of life.

1. If your husband wants to pay Taxes in America then you can ask American Government about it.

2. If your husband has got the job in Dubai then you can query the salay range that company where your husbend will join the job.

3. If you don't expand money then total salary of your husband will be benefited.

4. If you don't expand then you can save total money.
