Just got back from there.
It was a business trip, only spent three a half days there. But even that was enough to make you realize what an unbelievable, fascinating, wonderful place it is.
Used to live in Japan along long time ago, but never went to Kyoto once.
Am so glad I did now.
Saw authentic geisha in the old district, had obligatory photo taken with said geisha. Stayed in a 700 year old temple for one night. Ate possibly the best food ever - people always say that - but it's true. Drank brew with red-faced salarymen and entered the bizarre world of hostess bars.
Generally speaking, just got mesmerized all over again...
Japan is still not really a top holiday destination. It should be.
Or perhaps keeping it a secret is better...
