Hey there...
I'm a guy who has been in love with Dubai since I first got to the beautiful city.
Recently due to personal issues I had to shift off to Kuala Lumpur for some time. For any one who wishes to compare the two places I have posted a blog on my blog at blogspot. naqviworld.blogspot
But the jest of the discussion is in the list which I made comparing the two cities so here it is.
Dubai (good)
1-The road map is immaculate and one can never get lost in Dubai.
2-Phenominal shopping, one would find gorgeous shopping malls throughout the city with all kinds of stores at reasonable prices.
3-The fantastic cuisines ranging from Indian to Italian and French to Chinese.
4-Without a doubt, the best 5 star hotels of the world with breathtaking interior and ext design.
5-In general a very luxurious lifestyle which one may not lead in ones own home country.
Dubai (bad)
1-Sky rocketing rentals in comparison to the general local income.
2-Speeding cameras throughout the city sometimes 2-3 within 400 meters.
3-A rather materialistic society in general where one has to spend handsome somes of money if one wishes to keep up with the culture.
4-Terrible traffic jams starting from Sheikh Zayed to Emirates Road.
5-Unless one earns a reasonable amount of money, not a good place to save money.
Kuala Lumpur (good)
1-Shockingly cheap, whether its property, dining out or commuting from one place to another.
2-A far better public transport system than Dubai, for one doesn't really need a car in KL.
3-Great cuisines, and such international franchises which are not available in Dubai.
4-In my opinion the best place in the world to save money, because like I stated earlier THIS PLACE IS EXTREMELY CHEAP.
5-Great shopping, there is nothing which one would not find in this city.
Kuala Lumpur (bad)
1-The city is very dirty with trash on the streets in fungus on the buildings.
2-All shops close down at 10 and some malls close at 8.
3-Security is not up to the mark like it is in neighbouring Singapore.
4-People in general are rude, quick to judge and get offended rather easily.
5-Where there is public transport, it gets a bit confusing between different types of trains (LRT, Monorail) because within the city some areas have either one station and each type of train has a different route and of over 30 stops connects at only 3.
Hope I was able to help anyone out there.
Peace
