Can anyone advise me on whom I should contact about any vacancies in these areas - please see below an outline of my career to date.
Since leaving school, I have been involved with entertainment, events and marketing at various levels, beginning with me qualifying as a printing estimator from which I gained knowledge and experience related to the production of printed materials for various products.
I began my career as a performer on stage and television (BBC and Independent TV) working with some of the top Directors and Choreographers in the UK. One such production won the Golden Rose of Montreaux Television Award which included the use of magic illusions and performance combined. Later in my career, I became a Choreographer working with artists such as Take That (one of the first choreographers to work with them) La Toyah Jackson and many others. As a choreographer I have staged product launches, fashions shows, theatre shows and television productions (Channel 4 TV in the UK).
My career as a Choreographer involved me in various projects within indoor Shopping Malls (through fashion shows with high street retailers such as Top Shop, River Island, Next etc and entertainment such as orchestral concerts or cultural events) and City Centre locations with medium and large scale entertainment events aligned to the retail outlets. – The main purpose of this was to act as a promotional marketing tool to attract visitors and shoppers into the locality (My wife works for an international retailer and will shortly be relocating to Dubai, so I am aware of various aspects of the UAE and in particular the retail outlets such as Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre and others).
I have worked with artists from different cultural communities, Japanese, Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, British to name just a few also shows my exposure to different styles and needs. I gained recognition for these events both with the Japanese and Spanish ambassadors and cultural attaches in the UK, so much so that the Japanese ambassador invited me to visit Japan.
I have staged an International event that attracted 280,000 people and was delivered within budget and was profitable for the first time in thirteen years. I have worked with a range of special effects, including lasers, dry ice, smoke, hologram projection, hot air balloons, fireworks, wild animals (elephants and horses) and a number of other special lighting and sound effects both at indoor and outdoor venues including pop concerts with Ronan Keating, Sugar Babes and Big Broverz to audiences in excess of 40,000 people.
Throughout the whole of my career Marketing as played a constant role from the promotion of small scale events through to Destination Marketing / Branding in my role as Tourism Officer for Northampton Town and surrounding areas (this included the development of a brand identity) and Event Marketing for an International event.
As the Head of Marketing and Events in the UK’s first leisure / theme park I have further developed my skills in relation to the marketing and promotion of a pure leisure attraction. My knowledge of the internet as led to the management, design and delivery of a new interactive website that has seen an increase of 45% in hits each month for the last two months.
I have excellent Project Management Skills reflected by the range of events that I have staged with the experience off Managing Teams of people from various backgrounds. My IT Knowledge is extensive including web based technology and website development and my ability to Manage Budgets from the very small to in excess of £2million and provide a profit is again evident. Through all this I have developed Excellent Communication Skills enabling me to negotiate, listen to their needs and deliver to high standards for a range of clients ensuring that their objectives are met.
