Hi,

I've been looking for an IT job for over 2 months now. I guess I started looking for a job at the wrong time. Summer time, everyone's on vacation. I just want to start working again. I have posted it on bayt.com, naukrigulf.com, been looking through gulfnews, etc

Maybe its because I have an American passport? I don't know.. I've had 3 interviews, of which 2 said you're over-qualified and 1 said you have a strong personality (What the heck does that mean?)

I have over 10 yrs of IT experience. I have been a Server/Systems/Technical/Wireless/Customer Support Engineer, and have Lead/Sr. Level experience in various industries like Oil & gas, Banking, ASP (application service provider), Global PC manufacturers like HP, Consulting, etc..

Hi Soupie, i started about the same time looking for a job in IT field, i already did the same thing as you did (bayt, naukri, gulfnews, khaleej times, etc.). I do also have more than 12 years experience in distribution, corprate and retail market as well.
Don't give up, keep trying because the IT industry is really good in UAE.

For me i decided to go by end of September to Dubai, they contacted me from Charterhouse and they told me they have some opportunities, but their clients want to meet with candidates face to face, so it might be helpful (at least for me) to be there.
