GWU Student looking for a tourism internship in Dubai Oct 24, 2007
Hi,

My name is Zalfa. I am currently a student in the GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY in Washington, DC, USA, doing my Master in Tourism Administration.

I want to find a Hospitality and Tourism internship in Dubai for Spring 2008. I am a Saudi Citizen and I also hold an American passport. I was born in the United States.

Please email me at Zalfamh@gmail.com And let me know what I need to do to find an internship or if there are any available internship opportunities in Dubai.

I should be in Saudi Arabia between December 20th and January 16th so I can come to Dubai for an interview if I am to find an internship opportunity.

Thank you for taking the time to read my forum.

Zalfa

hi there zalfa,

without wanting to be to blunt or put you off, i think that it will be very difficult for you to find a LEGAL position for such a short duration of time. the normal contract legnth is 3 years, athough there is provision in the law for exponential training. you may not have as many problems find work through as you are a GCC national.

have a look at one of my other postings "tips for finding work in Dubai", the easiest thing would be to do a search of tour operators in Dubai and then forward a well worded covering letter to the managers of each.

Zalfa contact your local AEISEC Chapter .. they should help you find a placement in Dubai. They are pretty active here and i know a bunch of students from the US who have gotten placements through them.

Alternatively contact : http://www.emiratesacademy.edu/ they might have something for you ..

Good luck !

Hi,

Thanks for replying. I thought Gulf citizens were allowed to work in Dubai? I could be wrong.
