Hi I am new to this forum. I have a job offer as a 3D Animator (5 yrs experience from Phil) for a british company in media City. The offer is 10K AED, 12K after 6 months. No housing and tranpo allowance.

I am seeking opinion if this offer is sufficient enough for the cost of living there. I am going there alone, wife and kid left in the Phil. Will there be left for my family relative to my expenses. Should i negotiate for housing and tranpo? Can I still save on this kind of salary?

Any info is much appreciated.

I dont know abt u....but i have 2 years experience in networking and it support and a proper company like that pays 10 +

Ask for 15....tell them dubai is getting more expensive....12 is useless...with no house accomodation.

12k is perfectly fine if your family is back in Philly.

Maybe the reason they gave me 10K as my starting rate coz im from the Phil? (as what some people told me) If ever they will consider housing allowance, how much is the standard? how much is also the standard for a transpo allowance?

I think you can manage with AED12K/-, however if you're planning to bring your family after some time AED12K is not enough. With AED12K/-, you must stay focus with work and keep in touch with your family. Avoid going out with "girls" otherwise, you can't send anything to your family.

If you're really that good with exemplary performance at work, who knows your company will be generous enough to double your pay after 6 months.

Geez... i sound like a mother.
