Bethsmum- There may be a slight discomfort when getting it done, but it really depends on one's teeth sensitivity and how strong they are

My friend had it done, she is young, 27, fit, with lovely teeth. She was in agony for days. Maybe she was just a wimp. She also had to avoid 'coloured' food for days. They look nice tho' but given her time again, she says she wouldn't go through it again. BTW you're not a dental person are you? LOL Oops sorry!

I think if one's gums have receded a bit the whitening solution can be quite painful on the exposed root. If someone in their teens or 20's has been brushing too hard they may have gum loss already.
