Right, so I went to Johnny Rockets yesterday
(the Beach Rd one) because I was feeling a bit flush.
"I'll have a nice, quality burger with all the trimmings" I said to myself, not my usual SatwaPalaceCafe job...
So in I went, propped myself up on one of the stools and in no time at all, one of the young ladies came along and took my order. Everything was going fine until she asked me 'how I wanted my burger done' to which I replied medium....
And that's when she said sorry but no, I couldn't; I'd have to have it medium-well because of 'new municipality rulings'...
WHAT?? WHAT IS GOING ON??? If I want my burger medium done, why can't I have my bloody (literally) burger medium done??? If the municipality is so concerned with hygiene standards or food safety (I'm presuming these are the reasons), why don't they concentrate on banning all the rubbish you get clinging to sticks which pass for shawarmas or the falafels which have been sitting there for so long they taste as dry and old as some tramp's shoe? Why deprive me of my right to enjoy a quality burger, MEDIUM done????
Talk about 'living in a nanny state'....
When I did get the burger (medium-WELL done) it tasted much better than usual, I would definately have it again but this is potentially damaging to the validity of my rant and also besides the point...
