So DEWA announced a new program today to help reduce water and electricity consumption where they will scale the costs up if you use over certain amounts.

Do locals pay? Is this another stealth tax, more inflation?

From the article at: http://gulfnews.com/nation/General/10190474.html

Emiratis are exempt from the new rates.

The major point of this initiative is once again, to clamp down on bachelors and multiple people living in villas, as they apparently use more water than families.

I think the UAE Government must be starting to think the expat population is stupid and hasn't got the message yet to move out of the villas and start renting all the apartments that were built in the Marina.

Are you slave? If so, you would not be allowed to type what you have.

See Dubai is free.

We are slaves with freedom, the modern day workforce. Yes we chose to be here - but at what price?

All day I listen to British people and you sound just like UK person.

Dubai is too expensive. Dubai is too much traffic. Dubai has too much expensive schools.

Now you complain Dubai has too much water and power.

How much for water, power and petrol where you come from?
