about the clubs and what not im not sure. but i have many friends who are gay and they dont seem to have any more problems than anyone else. the same rules apply to homosexuals and heterosexuals....dating is not allowed; so be careful because homosexuality, i think, is against the law in dubai. however, i wouldnt worry too much about that because there are a lot a lot a lot of gays around, so if it is against the law, it isnt enforced.

but yeah, apart from the showing of affection in public, you can basically do whatever you want.

I had a gay friend and you could tell he was gay (if you know what I mean)...he used to get stared at a lot. Especially if we went to an Arab restaurant....I remember at Safadi on Sheikh Zayed Road ..it was sooo uncomfortable because EVERYONE was staring. But, its expected in the culture and especially concerning Islam. He is Muslim himself...so he understood what was going on and didn't feel too offended.

I'm sure you can survive here, but I'd be careful about being open about it.

There are no gay clubs or bars as homos.e.x.uality is against Islam and it is frowned upon. I'd be very careful about letting people know about your preference here as well.

hahaha...its funny though..hes a half indian, half pakistani, half Sunni, half Shia h o m o $exual. So from everywhere he is gonna face some predjudice. He still considers himself Muslim because he thinks that him being gay is not in his control...
