Sad news that the great Croc Hunter will no more b there to show us the extreme close up shows n educate ppl. May his soul RIP. Wish the money goes to the family not to some stupid middle man or the tv channel.

i always felt that he would die bitten by a venomous snake.... guess i was not too wrong

He will be missed by me and my family

We learn a lot about croc and snakes from his show on animal planet. Always entertaining and always put a big smile on my daughter's face. Wife and I were thinking about visiting the zoo next time we head downunder and try to see him in person. Sigh.

THE CROCODILES ARE CRYING

His animals inclusive - Crikey - light the place with love!

Exploding forth with character and redefining cheek
It's one thing to be honoured as a champion unique
It's one thing to have microphones and spotlight cameras shoved
It's another to be taken in and genuinely loved

But that was where he had it right - I guess he always knew
From his fathers' modest reptile park and then Australia Zoo
We cringed at times and shook our heads - but true to natures call
There was something very Irwin in the make up of us all

Yes the more I care to think of it - the more he had it right
If you're going to make a difference - make it big and make it bright!
Yes - he was a lunatic! Yes - he went head first!
But he made the world feel happy with his energetic burst

A world so large and loyal that it's hard to comprehend
I doubt we truly count the warmth until life meets an end
To count it now I say a prayer with words of inspiration

May the spotlight shine forever on his dream for conservation

It was like she'd just turned old enough to show her honest fears
I tried to make some sense of it but whilst her Dad was trying

Of all the tributes worthy - he was rough...but he was real

More sad news, Australian racing legen Peter Brock died in a car crash this morning. Terrible news for Australians, our icons are falling.

Oh my, so many sad news in a week.

May Steve and Peter rest in peace.

I read Papillion and there are some good tips in there about building rafts out of old coconuts etc. so it can't be too difficult to get away.

Well, since Australia is probably the most beautiful country on the planet, I can understand why many of my fellow Aussies choose to live their lives there. Some of us like to see the rest of the world, some of us are content in the knowledge they already live in paradise.

I was watching his shows tonight on Animal Planet, so sad.

i miss him i remember i use to rehearse on lizards after watchin him taming crocs....hope his son carries his legacy.....

I doubt it sniper even though it would be great if that would happen...
It is even possible that his kids might hold some grunge with animals/wild life....
