Some people take it easy, some would be thinking this is the lady who I made love to just last week/month is going to make love to my friend now.

I know this case varies from a person to another, but it could be very awkward, specially if the relation doesn’t work and the lady or the guy dates another friend

depends how your relationship ended. If it ended because of different personality and both of you realise that it won't work out, then YES. If your relationship ended because of a third person involve, then NO <--for sure.

I still talk to my ex coz we ended our relationship because of we have different interests in life, he wanted to stay in Australia, and I wanted to go else where.

It is only possible to stay friends with an ex that you never really had strong feelings for in the first place because you know for sure that your emotions wouldn't get in the way again.

On the other hand, if you were in love with your ex and did have strong feelings for him/her, then it's never a good idea to be friends with him/her. You would only end up hurting yourself more, your emotions would be all over the place and you'd probably end up arguing all the time. Consequently, it wouldn't be a healthy friendship.

i agree with u , it depends on the situation ,like if u and ur ex weren't in love and u dated for a short time and u decided its not working between u 2 then why not date his /her friend if u have much more in common and u enjoy each others company? why would u want to waste this opportunity ?

Exactly. I never understood why people date their way through a small social circle. It just makes for bad feelings, awkwardness and sometimes all out conflict in the end.

I know exactly what you are saying, however I have the experience of both a good & a bad break up.
So I think is is possible to be friends but it takes a lot of understanding.
