quick question please...
whats a troll ?


(*thinks* maybe i should have posted this in the newbie forum as its a newbie sort of question ...oh well)

They're like these little , supposed to be scary people.
DUnno if they really exist.
When i was growing up, you used to get those small figurine thingys...with long , vertical, punk hairstyles n all. my sis's used 2 have them.

so maybe they're like mythical creatures.

if im wrong, sorry and search the net for it.

in terms of trolls on the forum they are people who sit in the background and only post to cause trouble or arguments ... if ignored they usually disappear .... but a trolls life force comes from attention/reaction

Troll is a tiny weeny figure with huge eyes and a very peculiar nose.Usually the hair is standing up (as if its seen a ghost or something). The hair is colored (pink, yellow, gree, red, etc.- these are the colors Ive seen).

A lot of people I know find it cute...I think it looks ugly and weird.

yeh, i know the freaky lil, nakey creatures with the multi coloured hair, and the guy who lives under the bridge to wait for goats seeking greener pastures... i just wasnt sure about the type that hang around forums...

it derives from the latin "scio" meaning "to know". and its not exactly the case of one sheep many sheep. the notion itself is in singular "the knowing man" or "the man that knows", and not men

same for homo neanderthalensis, homo erectus, etc

the english science derives from it too, like many other words.
