Back in India, females occupy a large segment in every company.

Yes.

I work in an american company based in the media city. Our IT Manager is a lady from the Philippines...and she's really good.

Yes there are women in IT here however not as much as they are in India.

its not that easy, but you have to at least apply

in my opinion.. i dont like to see a woman working in IT... if you are going to ask why... well, the women are not created to sit down in front of a monitor tryin to solve something... in contrast. the woman are more sociable than the man... so know you are know what am talkin bout...

If a woman wants to work in IT then good for her and she should go for it.

Now, why a woman would want to surround herself with the men in IT everyday though is a complete mystery to me

Actually in the more conservative socieites such as india where women working was not so common place before, IT was a great place for women to work since they dont have to be running around and doing things. It is seen as a more "decent" job interacting with a machine rather than running around and interacting with men.
