I really hope someone out there can help!!
We're relocating to Abu Dhabi from London in a couple of months time but I'm struggling to find any advice or forums on AD! CAn anyone please point me in the right direction??
We really need advice on where to look for a property (to rent). Are there expat communities? Where are the best areas for kids?
Any advice at all would be very very welcome!!

Welcome to the forum Nicky. Most of us here will know about AD, its not another world .. so ask your questions away .. just make sure you have searched on here before asking since there are many threads on abu dhabi and even more comparing Dubai to Abu Dhabi.

As for renting a place out most of the resources are the same, mainly the classifieds section at www.gulfnews.com ...

If you've already got a job here, would make sense to tell the company to help you with finding a place. Or they can book you into furnished apts for a while when you get here, while you go around looking at places. Rents are taken up-front for 4 months, 6 months or a year, so be prepared with that kind of finances.

There are different kinds of communities- church, clubs, special interest groups, cultural groups etc. Where you fit in would totally depend on you.
