Ok ... Doctors and Nurses and Patients of DF ... i have a secret i want to share with u ..and i am asking for ur help .... Seriously ...ok .. Seriously .. I cant Swallow medicine Pills and i tried and tried it just swims in my mouth ... and i even tried to put the pill with food ..didnt work .. i heard that CHINESE ACUPUNCTURE helps..Any theories ?


P.S: Do not use this against me in the house of Law

Ok - confession time - Corcs, you aren't the only one!! Whilst growing up, I was the same and I couldn't swallow pills - it was embarrasing at 16/17 to have to ask the doctor to prescribe medicine!!

As stupid as it may sound, you should try practicing. Put the pills right at the back of your tongue, and swallow some water very quickly afterwards. You could use harmless vitamins to practice with.

Its a very serious problem, joking apart. I had the same problems as a teenager - not really sure how I got out of it, but I still struggle swallowing tablets now.

hahahahaha, that happens on just about every topic on this forum!

Its in your head. Think about it, a tablet is smaller than most things you swallow (no, not that!). So the difference is only because you thing about it! Pretend it is something else, candy, etc. and then it will go down easy.

I used to never be able to swallow pills either ..... just put it in your mouth flip your head back in a quick motion so that the pill goes to the back of your mouth then as you bring you head back to normal upright position drink the water and presto it should disappear! Dont try and swallow with your head back cos your throat will be closed and you will choke.

Also try practice on the powder type pills as the ones in the gel coating will actually float in the water and are harder to swallow.

Practice with cooked peas cos they are nice and mushy!!
