I want to rent a car for 3 months before I take the plunge and buy one (would rather do it after I pass my probation period at work).

Where's the best hire joint in Dubai? I'd like something semi-decent, like a BMW 318i or similar class.

All the big reliable names are here like National, Hertz, Budget, etc....

Why would you want to spend all kinds of money renting a BMW???? Just get yourself a normal rental like a Camry or Accord and thats more than enough. Not like its your car....

AFAIK... Sixt is renting only Mercedes cars in Dubai!
For a very competetive price for short periods, I don't know about longer periods.

But you should rent well in advance, I once tried to get a car there about a week in advance and they had no single car available for rent (what a surprise as they only have nice Merc's )

I just called them and asked for a price, because I also need a rental car for 2 months soon after I sold my car.
For Long Term it is very expensive, a Mercedes B150 is 4700 Dhs a month

For some its not flash, for others its nice to have....

But I personally would not spend 3700-4200 per month to rent one...
