Don't know about you but when I think of great doctors or dentists I don't really associate a Hungarian education with them....

Spend the extra bucks and get a real degree in Western Europe (UK / France), Canada, USA, or Australia. Forget the rest.

Study medicine in Hungary, a full member of EU! Jun 22, 2006
Dear Liban,

Thank you for your good provocative comments on my post. I take it for granted and a good chance to emphasize on a couple of facts about Hungarian education. But mean while I have a couple of questions from you;
What separates Western Europe from Eastern Europe in your terminology? What is the definition of a great Doctor? How much do you know about past and present situation of Hungarian education?
In reply to your comment I should say that I am a graduate Dr. from Hungary myself. I am currently practicing medicine together with 15 other Hungarians in a JCIA accredited, Johns Hopkins affiliated (The one and only in UAE) big hospital called TAWAM in Al- Ain. Not talking about other hospitals all over UAE.
Hungarian graduates are automatically eligible for practicing in UK, Germany Scandinavians and the rest of your Western European countries with a good reputation.
These days Hungarian medical universities are flooded with western European students thanks to it's high standards.
So... once you can get the same quality (if not better) of education in Hungary for half the price of UK why would you through out your money? Not talking about life standards! A student in UK should still use a tap with hot and cold water separated and work in Mac Donald's to have pocket money, while with half of that money you can live in a 3 bedroom comfortable apartment and eat stakes every day!

I see the result of a Hungarian education....

Poor reading skills. :)

I already said what Western European countries have internationally acredited programs.

Fact. Go to the US or Canada with your Hungarian degree and see it used as toilet paper. The UAE is not a benchmark of educational prowess by the way :P This is not a flame but fact.

There are hundreds of thousands of Hungarian medical graduates who are working in the great USA and Canada and UK as Doctors, Pharmacists, Dentists, and Researchers. Half of my classmates made it to states easily. I am working in UAE because I was born here and I love living in UAE!

As I undrestand, with regard to the language you are using it seems that I am talking to a non professional who is suffering from Comment-arrhea ( a condition describing people who feel they should comment on anything they see in a forum without a second thought ).
Please be here, read, think, investigate, think again and then comment!
I hope I didn’t get too personal.
Respect..

Girl if only you knew.... 8)

As for other stuff.... I will not flame you anymore and just would ask that you try not to use words with more than 5 or 6 letters in English....

I'm out of here and no longer commenting on this thread to let it die gracefully.

with the greatest respect to you Hungarians, i am affraid Liban is spot on.

One interesting point. How come there are hundreds of Thousands of hungarian medical staff in the US. That must be the entire population, so who is left in Hungry ??

I also dispute the fact that Western Under Grads are flooding to Hungary. Most people in the UK dont even know where Hungary is.

Fact - Hungary has only 30 Uni's 25 State Run/ 5 Church run

Fact - The British, American and Canadian Education Councils in Budapest who award Western Scholarships are oversubscibed by approx 6700% annually.

Sorry, i have to admit i laffed out loud at the toilet paper comment - it was superb sarcasm, it wasn't intended to be offensive.

The unfortunate overtone though, is that Liban is unqestionably correct, and whatever you or Raidah thinks the sad fact is a hungarian degree or master really carries little weight when it comes to employment.

If 5 candidates were in the frame for a job, all with Degree's and 4 were western european or N.america/nCDN then the hungarian may as well withdraw.

I think we could have a lot of privilege studying abroad rather than UAE no offense but we can have a lot of opportunity on other countries.
