or rather lack of it! Does anyone else get irritated by the generally inconsiderate and boorish behaviour here? The selfish (and patently dangerous) attitude to driving is one thing, but no pleases or thank yous, holding of doors for those behind you, queue jumping etc. Even the lowest social strata in other parts of the world have better manners!

Whilst I agree that the things you mention are very frustrating to deal with, we cant exactly apply 'western' notions of courtesy here because so many people are from other parts of the world. It is only really in western countries that I have seen some of the things you mention, such as queuing, holding doors, saying please and thank you. In a lot of countries in asia, for example, such practices are not common, and many people living in those countries have no idea that they are being rude or even offensive.
People in other countries often have very different rules about manners, and may find the way westerners behave in certain situations as 'ill-mannered'.

It doesn't make it o.k. for people to behave this way, but it helps to understand the mentality.

Its not limited to Muslims. Perhapes in general the Muslim families may be more conservative, but thats probably because of the visibility issues. I am Muslim from the Shmal and I can honestly say that slutty Muslim girls do exist....

PS - The biggest porno star in France is Amira Casser.... She overtook Rashida the Moroccan porno star. Shows that Arab girls are not what people think they are if Arabs (irrespective of religion) occupy the top two places in the French porno industry. Definatly not to be proud of.
