I've been following the progress of The Plastic Scouring Pad Comp. (L.L.C) with great interest, and feel that some of the members of the forum may want to invest their time (and possibly hard earned money) in a new venture that I am about to embark on.

What is more logical than producing sand paper in a country so well disposed of this natural resource? I can’t imagine why no one has done it before; imagine what a prestigious project this would be to the greater Dubai – the worlds largest sand paper producing factory, right here on its doorstep.

This of course would only be the start of it, the Sand Paper Factory, would soon be followed by Sand Paper City, where like-mined people would choose to live in an atmosphere of luxury, opulence and unrivalled hospitality! I even envisage plans for a huge island, of course shaped like a piece of sand paper – but that is another story.

As this is a “start-up” project, the methodology is simple, I ask all forum members to forward me all old or unused “post-it’s” or masking tape that you may have lying around at home (or even in the office). These will form the basis of the new venture. I will then arrange, at my personal expense to have these impregnated with a fine, high grade scouring medium (sand if you will). These will then be compiled into dispensers and exported to the world – through a contact I have located in Nigeria.

In addition to contributors and investors I am looking for a suitable Brand Name that can be used for the product (or product range), something catchy like “Burj-Al-I-Rub”.

thanks, appreciate it... although i would NEVER try to muscle in on the scouring pad triad... then again the option of a jv would be something to consider, we could even combine products ....

did i mention that i have another contact in nigeria (of course) who is heir to an elbow grease empire???? yet another product just waiting to be exploited!!!

Elbow grease franchise...Hmmm, now that would be a potentially profitable venture considering the amount of cleaning required in Dubai at the moment due to the dust kicked up by construction.

Is this the same company who is offering the spirit level bubble franchise?

Interesting thought about combining products. There is a distinct similarity between Scourers and Sandpaper. One cleans dishes, the other cleans up wood and metal and plastic.

I will talk to the other board members.
