Both my husband and myself together earn about 5 dhirams. we have a son too who is about 3 yrs old. can we survive with that kind of budget in sharjah.

5 dirhams...or did you mean 5000 ?....with a kid...sharjah...togeather...with that kind of budget....frankly no!....but there are families that try and survive on that budget...there are a lot of factors...would you have to drive to dubai everyday...meaning owning a car...how much would your kids school fees cost...dubai education isnt cheap...even if you get a very cheap place in sharjah...the rent alone would eat into your salary...frankly in a nutshell...for a family of three...earning 5 thousand a month...i would not recommend it!...hope that helps!!...

well dubaidreams....is accommodation provided? if it is then i guess it should be "OK". but then again u are asking if u can survive in sharjah, so that means no.

i guess there are many many more people who are living on less than 5 dirhams in dubai, hoping to earn more in the near future. if there is a will there is a way....

highflyer= bigger bills=broke at the end of the month= starving on home cooked meals(which i incidentally enjoy!!).... ...but i think the guy meant 5000...and for a family of 3...not much left to enjoy and save upon...hey dod we gotta hook up soon mate...when are ya back in town?

haha...yeah me too....learnt how to cook a couple of dishes in jordan since i am stuck here alone all the time....

incidentally i was back for a couple of days last week for labour day. . but i had to dedicate all my time to my wifey and her SHOPPING!!!

Will definitely give u a buzz when i'm in town. I hope to complete my project soon so that I can get out of this god forsaken place!!

and yes i was referring to 5000 dirhams....u can't even buy a big bottle of water with 5 dirhams!!!!
