“Resolution 9 of 1995 concerning organizing and bringing in of family members and servants by foreign manpower” (in short sponsoring)
Article 2
“An expatriate who receives a monthly salary of at least Dhs. 6000 may sponsor a male or female domestic worker, provided he pays the State’s Treasury an annual sum equivalent to the domestic workers annual salary and not less than Dhs. 400 per month.”
Pretty straight forward. You will need to apply to the Dept. of Labour and Immigration for the necissary permits. Medical tests are done here, although it may be prudent to have your own done before you incure the expense of moving her to Dubai. X-ray for TB, HIV and Hepatitis are the main things they will look for.
I would suggest that you contact the company who will be sponsoring you here and ask them to make the nessisary arrangements, although ulitimately your husband (i'm assuming he will be the person employed in the uae) will have to sign as her sponsor - he is then responsible for her well being as well as behaviour while she is here.
There is no minimum wage, but you will have to provide her with accomodation. Most domestics earn about 1,000 - 1,200 per month!!!! and this is for a 6 day week!!!
