Please moderator can you help me out.

I reside in India. My husband is working in Dubai and has a sponsor visa for both me and my son. We want to join him soon. But I have a few doubts.

1. As I would be seeking for employment there in dubai do I have to get my degree certificate attested?. If so how and where do I get it done?

2. Will my son who is three years require any documents attested?

3. Does the marraige certificate need to be attested?

4. How long will it take for us to get the visa?

I am away from my husband for quite some time now and we are eagerly waiting to join him. Can you please help me out with these questions.

Thankyou,

1. yes, either at a uae or saudi consulate, although the rules are changing and this could be done through empost (emirates postal services) once you are here - this costs about 500 dirham through empost
2. no, but bring copies of his birth certificate and vacination cards from the doctor - there are some vacinations he has to have had to be able to attend school. hepatitis etc.
3. no, not as far as i know, but you do require the un-abbridged version (the long one), which you may need to apply for in india. your husband requires this to make the visa applciation, and you will need it when you do your medical for residency.
4. between 2 and 4 weeks. your husband needs to meet the criteria to be able to sponsor his family. 3,000 aed per month with company housing provided, or 4,000 per month if no company housing is provided.

check through the forum with the search facility as a lot of these questions have been covered extensivly and in depth in the past month.

hi i guess most of your questions have been answered.

Getting the visa bit i can add something more as i just got my wife on my sponsorship. If you are willing to spend some money and want to get the visa stamped within the country it can be done in 4 days flat.Including getting the initial visa, medical, amandment stamping, final stamping application and the stamping itself. I dont remember the exact amount i spent but was somewhere to the tune of 2500 to 3000 dhms.

cheers,
