I am new to this forum and is new to networking and computer stuff.
I have read multiple topics about networking but I can't seem to make my media player work.

Here's what the scenario is:

I have a media player which can be updated/controlled using a software to be installed in a computer (my computer is windows .
I have placed the media player in my house in discovery gardens.
When I am using the IP address of my local network at home, it is working. Eg: 192.168.1.100
But when I go to my other house in Al Qusais, and try to control the media player there, it is not working. (computer is also windows . I used the external IP of my house which I saw in whatismyip.com. eg. 86.98.16.115

The media player needs to have the server IP. Which is 192.168.1.100 in my local network and I assume 86.98.16.115 in my other house. I have tried using port forward but it seems not to be working.

Help.

Make sure 86.98.16.115 is the static IP of your home internet connection.
