I didn't see much of the game, only Rooney's (first?) goal. I don't even know who scored the rest.
I've lost interest in our National team at the moment, they have put in some shocking performances. I think I'm stuck in the 1966/70 era when we actually had a decent team. Bobby Moore, Nobby Stiles, the Charlton brothers and my favourite player of all time Colin Bell.

I may have a little bit more interest if Adnan Januzaj decides to play for England. This prospect is certainly generating some interest on the news channels. I don't understand how someone qualifies to play for 11 countries but good luck to AJ. He has a great talent and he seems like a nice kid.

Oh yes! There were so many good players of that era. I have fond memories of Upton Park and my few visits there with my boyfriend who lived in East Ham. That's when he wasn't confined at Her Majesty's Pleasure :D

It would be nice to see an African getting far in the tournament. Concerning the African qualification rounds, I was sad Bafana Bafana didnot make, but happy Morocco also didnot make it.

My money would be on Brasil, Germany, Belgium and Spain, but I am only cheering for Holland and Belgium.

Eyes will be on Messi. It is wonderful what he is doing in Barcelona, but he hasnot shown his capabilities in a World Cup yet. Three years ago he failed. If he doesnot succeed next year, he will be but a footnote in football history. People remember Maradona, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Pele, Paolo Rossi, Roger Milla, Gordon Banks etc. for their plays at World Cups. Only during a World Cup you can earn eternal glory.

And England made it!
