What's the oldest (year) car one can register over here legally?

As long as the car passes technical test, there is no limit. In shj you can even have special registration with special plates for a classic or antique

There were some rules announced saying cars older then 10 years couldn't have registration transferred and cars over 15 years would not be allowed to be renewed after next year

not that you should trust anything you read in the newspapers especially gulf news, there were exceptions for classics though but depending on what you were planning to buy it may not be worth the headache as this rule will likely resurface.

G to tha T ,i think you should consult with dealers ..there are many used car dealers in chennai.you can get a cheap car but a cheap car is different to get same car with high value...
