Does anyone know where the bagel concept comes from? We always go to circle cafe and eat bagels but I have a little knowledge about where the concept came from and how healthy a bagel really is. Thank you for any responses.

I think its an american thing but not 100% sure.

I thought bagels were American. I like them with cream cheese. I had some nice ones for brunch at Reem Al Bewadi on the Marina but they served them in twos. I can't eat two bagels. Why are meals so big in Dubai?

Duabi is based on a miny america everythings tripple portioned there so they double it here. its nice sometimes when you finish work and your straving...

I prefer a liquid lunch.

There's nothing nicer than sitting in the sunshine with a couple of drinks at lunch time. It always seems a bit naughty.

Back to bagels...I was listening to Sara Cox on UKs Radio 1 this morning. She cuts the middle out of the bagel to make it a bit less fattening. She cuts the top off then the bottom and discards the middle and fills it with low fat cream cheese and smoked salmon.

I couldn't be arsed.

Bagels originally from Poland (Jewish). Did you know that bagels are boiled? True bagels anyway...sometimes you'll find a roll shaped like a bagel, called a begal, but tasking like a roll..
