I'm looking to buy a used convertible (ideally a hardtop). I've seen various prices for models with Peugeot/ VW/ Volvo/ Chevrolet and am looking for advice on which is the best to buy in the range. I've heard that Peugeot develop problems after 5-6 years and that parts/ servicing are quite expensive. I would imagine parts and servicing costs are quite high with the other models also but i am just looking for any feedback to help with my decision. Any opinions are appreciated and welcome.
I'll give you some top-notch advice- don't buy one. It gets soaring hot especially in summer here and the last thing you would want is a convertible, your better off with a sedan. What's your budget?
I've already had a summer here so i know the deal. Would only get a hard top, if at all. Probably won't happen until Aug/september anyway; looking around AED55,000 but in a perfect world slightly less. The best for my budget seems to be a VW EOS hardtop. I've seen a few 2009 models with about 60k on the clock for around my budget. Few other cars but i hear they're expensive for parts/ maintenance. Have you had a convertible before?
Nope, never owned a convertible and I don't want to. but if you persist, I could give you a few pointers. If I were you, I'd buy a Ford Mustang Convertible hands-down. I mean, it looks meaner and it is probably going to be faster than the EOS. I reckon you can find some for around 50k on Dubizzle. Make sure the bloke who sells it to you isn't dodgy
