The hotels in town are the cheapest. Be prepared for ladies of the night. Use booking.com and sort by cheapest to dearest.

I have stayed at two hotels, Mina House in Sharjah and Emirates Stars in Dubai. Both were great and provided furnished apartments at reasonable rates. Mina House, being in Sharjah, is less expensive and costs 250 per day but you can get it for less if you rent for a longer period. Emirates Stars charges around 400 per day for a 1 Bedroom furnished flat. These are great for a family or group of people who want to stay for a longer period because you can cook your own food in the furnished and equipped kitchen.

other than that, you may be able to find less expensive hotels but you'll only get a single room and will have to buy food and drinks from the restaurant, which can be expensive. These sort tend to be uncomfortable for longer stays because the space is small.
