Thank you BM! And I am impressed by your sources of information. Yes I finished the marathon! In a beautiful city. Up until 35k everything was feeling reasonbly well, considering the circumstance. Then all of a sudden the man with the hammer came, despite the facts I was well rested, started slow, drank enough and ate enough during the marathon. I thought I will take my 6th power gel, but that stuff is
ing and almost made me puke. I think my body was too tired to accept, or couldnot process, anymore nutrition. Also my ears started to make peeping sounds, which isnot a good sign. My muscles went in lockdown, my knees hurted bad and it felt like somebody was stearing a pin in my calf. I decided to let go of my pace to finish under 4hrs 15 min., and paced down quite a lot. The last k's were very hard and very long. The spectators kept me going. They were great! Even the police saw I had a very difficult time and encouraged me. As my name was on my chest with the starting number, it was a true adreline rush to hear the last k's, "come on FD", come on FD". Only at 41k I got the feeling I was going to make it. I finished a few minutes over 4.30, but it felt like a big victory.
In six months is Amsterdam, my goal then is to go under 4 hrs, but now I know to finish by itself is a victory.
