Living In Dubai Vs Qatar

Living in Dubai vs Qatar Apr 22, 2013
Hi,

I have lately worked with several people from the Gulf that I have really got on well with so I'm thinking of getting a job there.

Which of the two places, Qatar or Dubai, would you say I should go for (I'm a female.)

The following things are important to me:
- learning to speak Arabic and immersion in the culture
- dancing
- affordable flights to Europe to see my family
- having a small plot to grow flowers and vegetables (yes, I know it’s a desert, but still)
- somewhere to swim comfortably
- affordable alternatives to driving yourself (bike?)
- good health care
- good internet connection
- a Hungarian community

I've heard that Qatar is more conservative. I'm not worried about that as long as I can have most of the things above.

Many thanks

hi esz ,

both places are fantastic to live but the Dubai has more freedom for the visitors and you can find your preferences easily in Dubai.

Mark , you are right, for a female Dubai is better than Qatar, the things that are mentioned in eaz's list are easily available in this city. So Dubai could be the right place for you.

I doubt you can have even half of them in Qatar. But I am sure you can find even more in Dubai ;) Choice is yours
