Hi everyone,

Have a friend visiting next week and he's asking if there's anywhere he can get a good deal on a watch. No doubt the malls will be no cheaper than Europe and he won't be able to haggle. Do they sell watches at the Dubai Gold and Diamond Park or anywhere else that won't be fake? (Obviously not Dolche and Karama!)

the old gold souk is apparently the best place to buy watches in dubai, they are cheap, but just make sure you look over the watch, there are some dodgy people there, try and research about what watch brand you are looking at buying such as rolex, make sure you know everything you can that makes it authentic

Well, if you want to buy a Rolex, you have to go to a Rolex dealer. Nobody else is allowed to sell a Rolex, especially in this country.

There are plenty of youtube videos of people selling fake rolexes in the souks. The same scenario plays out over and over the seller assures the buyer that it's genuine rolex and asks for one or two hundred dirhams.
