Valentine's Day wishes for a friend Feb 12, 2013
This is my first real post; I came to this forum with this particular question, and was wondering if any fluent speakers can help me. I want to send my female friend a Valentine’s Day greeting in Arabic.

From online resources, I’ve learned that an appropriate phrase might be:

“Eid hob sa’eed, habibti”

Firstly, is that an appropriate thing to say, or am I wrong in my translation? Also, I’d like to say this strictly as a friend. Yes, we do have a bit of “history”, but she’s in another relationship now and I don’t want to come across too strong or offend her. Does the word “habibti” have connotations that are too strong? We do consider each other dear friends.

Thanks, to anyone who can offer some insight!
