Well weird dreams are mainly due to astral projection or lucid dreaming.
I used to be scared of these weird dreams but then i learned something really amazing about it and to gain that you must be successful in Astral Projection. It seriously is amazing!. You come concious in your dream with the ability to change all around you, it also can be used to get rid of fear of death or demons. Get more info, it really is astonishing.

Bsorc, That's not Astral Projection. Astral Projection is where a person becomes so relaxed and in tune with what's around them they are actually able to leave their physical body and move around. You're still attached to your body by an umbilical cord type of string.

To enter the Astral plain you do not need to be asleep, it's more a sort of trance state.

Not many people are able to astral project, many through fear of having an out of body experience, which is exactly what it is, or because they are unable to reach the relaxed state required to complete the process.

Lucid dreaming is where you're incontrol of your dreams and is reached during the R.E.M (Rapid Eye Movement) part of the sleep cycle and occurs every 20-30 minutes, a full sleep cyle normally lasts around 40 minutes.
