Hey all,
Just a quick -very negative- feedback on Emirates Hospital (Marina & Jumeirah branches):
- My wife went there for a simple check up
- the gynecologist in charge did a Biopsy (with no special reason) and a whole bunch of analysis, explaining that it was mandatory to prevent any kind of problems
- One week later, the results in hands, the doctor was insisting on doing a surgery, claiming that my wife had an infection that could cause a cancer on the mid-long term
- We were so afraid that of course we accepted without double cheking (that was our mistake)
- The operation was heavier than expected (general anesthesy, one day in the hospital) & very painful for months after that -with a very bad and non professional follow up from the doctor in charge who was never available for an appointment after the surgery, for 2 months-
- 3 months later, we went to visit Emirates hospital again, since the surgery location became really painful (much more than before the operation). The doctor claimed that she couldn't understand why it was the case and recommended her to "visit a doctor in France", since she doesn't know any specialist in Dubai who can help her.
- Chocked, we went to visit 2 other gynecologists in Dubai, who read the analysis/Biopsy results and ensured us that SURGERY WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT NECESSARY and that emirates Hospital, such as many places in Dubai, were pushing people to costly operations/treatments without serious reasons to do so.
Total cost of this story: 12,000AED
We don't know what we should do now, then i'm asking your advices:
- Did anyone experience the same situation here in Dubai?
- Does anyone know a good lawyer specialized in customer's rights?
Thanks for your help/inputs, and please AVOID GOING TO EMIRATES HOSPITAL
