What's the Olympics supposed to prove, in the final reckoning?
Nice spectacle though; getting more commercialized with each passing year

Does this mean you are not inspired by what these people are doing in spite of the incredible challenges they face?

I must be getting my inspiration from elsewhere then. For example observing ordinary people in day to day life facing extra-ordinary challenges, sometimes failing, and trying repeatedly, sometimes succeeding brilliantly. They dont get any medals for their fantastic bravery and effort!
I didnt watch the Olympics that much. I found it rather boring!
However, I dont want to take anything away from all those young people that participated.
I couldn't help thinking that it was a bit of a spectacle, an extravaganza where mostly what mattered was who got the most medals.
And its getting more and more commercialized.
