Re: New Restrictions On Iranian Women's Education
Aug 11, 2012
That's infuriating to read! When men and women are able to study and discuss together it breaks down that barrier of viewing each other as s.exual temptations and encourages men and women to see each other as fellow human beings with brains and ideas. Segregating men and women and only allowing men and women into certain subjects just serves to promote gender stereotyping and disadvantages women if they are only allowed into subjects that don't train them for future careers.
This is the year 2012 and I can't believe how archaic the mentality is for Iranian authorities to implement those policies. Definitely a step backward for Iran.
