How do I upgrade Galaxy s2 to Android version 2.3.6? May 28, 2012
Hello,

I bought the Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) last year Android version 2.3.3

How can I upgrade my phone to version 2.3.6?
Which is the latest version I can upgrade to?

I get people telling me upgrade through Kies, but how?!
Would really appreciate a step by step walkthrough to upgrade my phone. Don't wanna mess it up.

Connect it to kies, and kies will find if it has a new firmware for your location.
I am not sure if it has it for UAE.

If not visit XDA Developers and you should be able to find an image you can load for your phone without any issue, you can probably even upgrade it to ICS without any issue.

If you have rooted your phone then you could easily flash Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich (even better than upgraidng to 2.3.6) or maybe even Jelly bean. The ROM that would let you do this is called Cyanogen Mod :)
