This is going to be difficult for some

Yup it;s going to make it extremely hard for some.

Reading it through it seems to be the case for all of the Emirates

Wording is confusing, looks like it is for working in Abu Dhabi. But it could for people working in all emirates. If it is for all emirates then its gonna be tough for people who are sharing.

Long overdue! will tidy the place up a little.

It's for Abu Dhabi, but if people have an AD visa and lvie in another Emirate, then they still have to provide the tenancy contract.

But coming to Dubai soon?

I don't think their can be any misunderstanding regarding the following statement:



"All expatriates in the UAE are now required to submit a copy of their house rent contract when they want to have their visa renewed...they should also present valid water or power bills to support that contract," he said.

But he also goes on to say....
“Those who work for Abu Dhabi-based companies and live in other emirates must bring a copy of the contract of their rent in those emirates…expatriates seeking to have their visa renewed in Abu Dhabi are not required to be living in the emirate…all they have do to is to bring a copy of their rent contract.”

It's just for AD for now. I'm pretty sure they'll be rolling this out UAE in the not too distant future. It's going to really make a lot of people reconsider staying here.
