Hi

Moving to Dubai in 2 weeks and need to rent a car. An initial 2 months should be good until I can buy one. Any suggestions. I am just looking for something pretty average.

I went to Herz last time I needed a rental car. There were no problems with them.

I would steer clear of the small operators here. There are a lot of crooks and con men in the car rental business - some of them routinely over charge customers for phantom fines. I have my own car rental horror story. Don't expect the police to help you if you get into trouble.

I would just say avoid Fast Rentacar. With any rental company make sure the car is registered, insured and has no fines pending when you take it.

Depends on what model car you want. The cheapest is around 700 AED for 1 week.

Do NOT rent with Dollar Rent A Car. They do a lot of promises but had bad experiences myself and heard lot of similar stories from unwanted renewals up to crediting from creditcards without requests etcetera.
