How everyone chooses their insurances? Does everyone tries to understand the specifications of an insurance plan before buying it, or does everyone simply buys it like a 'take it for granted' thing?

I meant any insurances. But when it comes to car insurances, people cares less to know about the specifications and covers of the plan. You are right that buying insurance online is less expensive than from the traditional agents. And moreover it is easy to find and compare the best plans that is appropriate for us through online platform. There are dedicated insurance website for the comparison of different plans.

To buy any insurance plan first thing you need to finalize is on the amount of insurance you are looking at. Then check out what all it covers, what are the extra benefits, renewal process, claim process, cashless facility available or not, which hospital they tied up with (in case of medical insurance).

But people I guess generally are not aware of the hidden clauses and the claims that will not be covered by insurance plans.
