OK, a mate of mine has an old friend visiting from Germany. They used to be gf/bf many years ago, but have just stayed as mates for many years. Since she has been over here on holiday, they have re-kindled their old relationship and are now 'intimate' once more.

Having been out socially with them a few times now, the young lady in question and I have hit it off very, very well. The problem...and here is the dilemma...is that she has made it quite clear that she would not be averse to taking our relationship a little further. Now I have no objection to that as she is great fun, bright and an absolute babe...but I do not want to affect the friendship with my mate. We are good buddies and I realise that, when she goes home in a couple of weeks, he and I will still be here and I don't want to have the whole thing creating problems. At some point in the future we may rely on each other in a life or death situation...

To do...or not to do, that is the question!

DK, it's not worth it matey. As you say what's the point of getting involved for a quick fling when she leaves soon, and if your best buddy finds out are you prepared to lose his friendship?

I appreciate that for your friend and the girl it's revisiting their old times, but I would have to question what kind of girl would get involved with two best mates and be 'intimate' with them both at the same time.

Also DK, remember, hate to say it, but when you're 'intimate' with someone you're also 'intimate' with everyone else they've ever been with. Do you want to be 'intimate' with your best mate? Look at it that way!

Jedi Knight, imagine that she was your girl and was hitting on your friend instead. Would you be cool with your friend taking it further? Also, what would you think about your girl? Sorry, but she doesn't sound like much of a catch to me.

Don't do it Knight- will only lead to trouble...wouldn't it be breaking the unwritten buddy code anyway?? You don't want sloppy seconds so to speak! Or to lose your best mate over it either!

The Force was strong in this one and the Dark Side was the easy path, but it leads to anger and anger leads to hate...
