The fonts are larger than they were but they don't seem ridiculously large on my monitors.
I tweaked them for comfortable reading and minimum eye strain.
Can you please describe your monitor, how many inches and what resolution?
It could be that the font size is set to more than 100% in your browser, you can press ctrl+0 to reset it, if it doesn't help press ctrl+- to make it smaller.

OK so how do I quote another post? The 'quote' button has disappeared, you can't seriously tell me I have to copy and paste a quote in.

Select the exact text you want to quote and press reply.
If you hover the Reply button it will say that.

I moved the @ functionality to the reply button.
@ was not intuitive for new users and I am kind of tired by the overquoting that resulted from the previous functionality of the "quote" button.
Or do you mean the quote button from the full editor, review topic section?

BTW how do you like the new Quick Reply?

If you press reply it quotes the whole of the text. There isn't any need to select the text unless you want to quote only part of the post.

Well it's not supposed to work like this now. Only if javascript is not working. :)

What browser do you use?

Andyba , There is a problem with the jump to drop down menu in Internet Explorer 9 on vista.

It goes behind the youtube videos.

Also the interaction on the site is laggy. scrolling and hover effects are slow in IE.

Yes it's much faster now. I also like the new quick reply. Great work! But the jump to menu still goes behind the youtube videos.

Actually if you only hit 'reply' it merely brings up the persons name,. not any text quoted.

Very slow scrolling on Windows Mango mobile devices, everytime you scroll there is a big delay for that paticular portion of the page to load/refresh. Other sites scroll/slide like butter.

you have to select some text than click reply to quote it.
If you are replying to an entire post, why quote it? On many other forums quoting the entire post is not allowed, they call it overquoting.
The best practice is to quote just the part that you want to reply to and the new functionality makes it easier.

Did anyone notice how the quick reply field will automatically grow to fit your text? Do you like it or should I remove it?

Hm... It could be that the device is using a cached version of the old CSS. Or that Windows Mango Browser doesn't like round borders. Can you please check if it renders the background gradient and shadows?

When I was replying from my home computer, yesterday, I was quoting the whole post by pressing reply. It doesn't do this from my work PC. I will check again from my home computer (when I'm at home)

--- Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:43 pm ---

Just checking something.

--- Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:44 pm ---

How come when someone posts directly after they have posted, it's a completely new post, but when I have done it, it adds it to the bottom of the first post?

Didn't that used to be something only moderators could do, when there were any?

--- Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:47 pm ---

DFT in Religions and Modern Society refers. His posts follow one another.

...and admins. :)

The rest of the cases where it seems that there are double posts - some post were moved or deleted.
In case of DFT, he asked me to move the posts about History and Religion to a new topic.

Did he? He's a friendly chap isn't he? I quite like him! he's welcoming everyone as if he's been here years. And he has magic powers like being able to post after himself. Now that's impressive! :D

Can you tell me what OS and browser is on your home computer?

My powers seem to be diminishing as I can no longer quote anything by just pressing 'quote' as I could yesterday.
I had to google what I'm using as I have absolutely no idea. google tells me i'm using IE 7 and Windows Vista. News to me. Does it mean anything to anyone else? Who cares as long as I can get on t'internet?

If I were You I would update the browser to IE9.

IE7 is not safe and is not supported by Microsoft anymore.
Or you can use other browsers like Firefox or Chrome, that is even better since they are faster in some situations.

I dont see any shadows or gradient backgrounds on any machine ( laptop or mobile ), just a greyish blue background.

Still the scrolling sucks on my mobile device, which is kind of PITA cuz the only time I log in here is when I'm in the can anyways. Everytime I scroll down have to wait for an eternity for the page to load.

desertdudeshj , that's strange, unfortunatelly I don't have a windows phone to debug, and I don't have the slightest idea what is the cause. :(
I have only android devices and the scrolling is fast and smooth on them.

Anyway I will research what can be the problem and try to solve it.

If I knew how to do it I might consider it but I don't so i won't.

What do you mean it's not safe? Am I about to blow up?

Thanks, I might try to update my IE.

I'm not keen on Firefox. I have to do a lot of updating on the DEFRA website and it doesn't like Firefox.
