Just saw that today it is expected that 6,000 planes will be flying over the USA airspace...a heavy travel day. Wow, that's amazing.

An interesting study was done in the days after 9/11 when all air traffic was grounded.
They found that the average temperature rose by between 1-2 degrees due to the reduced cloud cover produced by aircraft contrails.
Can they be claimed as a carbon credits I wonder?

I don't want to make a new thread so I'm putting it here. Took this photo at Dubai Air Show 2011, it is a vertical climb after takeoff from Eurofighter, a perfect vertical climb... it was awesome.
