Errr, NO. Would not want to make the venue public (too many wierdos). You often write about old timers DF Meets and I would be curious to see whether the venues were made public. Were they?

The radisson media city meet up in 2006, for example:

Not many on the attendee list are still around - the old timers can probably decipher Conc's nicknames.. :

I read the thread and indeed the venue was NOT public...it apparently was conveyed vide PM....I see you are on the list: did you attend? Interestinlyo neither Chocs nor Kanelli are listed

IIRC the venue was public knowledge - and the first post of the thread linked, Concs refers to another thread - this one was for the list of those attending. In any case, it was open to all and heavily advertised - as you can see from the thread.

Sorry Shafique, but either I misread the thread or you are mistaken. As I read it, the venue was 'secret' only revealed thru pm...after the meet the venue became part of the thread...but certainly not a public venue beforehand. By the way, did you atten any other 'meet'?

I would have been working nights then, so impossible to go.

The way it used to work, is basically it was put up what people would like to do, someone would organise it, peeps would show their interest and then the final deets were sent out to those who confirmed via PM. Still public though and open to everyone, so long as you PM'd your interest.

The point still is, that all the old meet ups were open to everyone, not secret and open to only a select few. So I suggest if you're going to contnue with these little clicky get togethers, you all organise it off-forum and via facebook or something like that.

And yes I was actually thinking of putting together a Christmas 'do' for the forum.

So the deets of the meet were put on the street, and the peeps read the deets of the meet, PM’d the clique and met at the meet to greet all the peeps!

So future meets should meet the creed of what I say, or sod off and go the facebook way, but if you do just as I say, I’ll put the deets of the meet on the street so the peeps read the deets for a meet and greet at christmas!

Or I’ll just thcweam and thcweam and thcweam.
