Good post my @ss !

The zionist movement could have started in seventeen eleventy nine tivity, no one cares, only after WWII did Israel come into existance by Europeans jews. Jews which Europe and the US did not want or had no where left to go because everything they had was either stolen or destroyed.

Then these displaced Jews started a terror campaign, with such acts of terrorism like the King David bombing and later these very people who were responsible for such terrorist acts and gangs later went on to become the leaders of Israel.

The creation of Israel did come about through European guilt and Jewish Terror and not bollocks like Jewish birth right and the Torah being a land deed to Israel.

And atleast be decent enough to paste the link from where you choose to plagiarise material and pass it off as your own, parroting propaganda from sites trying to look smart and informed. Anyone who has read more than two of your posts knows you're not capable of writing anything cohesive or without drunk smileys. At the very least rewrite it in your own words !

Israel is a legitimate country (and has more legitimacy than the US, OZ and Canada), thats the starting point of peace. Some hatefull people obviously haven't reached that point.

Never said it wasnt a legitmate country today and a pretty bold statment ( i.e BS ) that it has more legitamacy than the US, Aus and Canada.

But you cannot deny its roots based in terrorism and guilt. Oh wait....what the hell am I saying, you will deny the sun rises from the east if the Izzies declare it tommorow.

Once again, anyone who doesn't see Israel through cracked rose colored glasses, the way you see it, is full of hate, as opposed to you being full of (have to keep it clean for K's sake) poo.

Calm down dear! At this rate you'll do yourself a mischief
You wouldn't last long in the Diplomatic Corps munchkin.
This is the trouble trying to negotiate with Muslims, You're just so flighty! Jumping off the deep end because I forgot to post the link. Silly me :!: I posted it in the first post munchkin. Please accept my very sincere apologies for not repeating the link. I will ensure I'm punished severley later tonight. :D

But I do stand my post that the Jews have returned to their Promised Land.

At the risk of giving you a coronary munchkin, please read, and understand  , the following! Link provided at the end

The Promised Land
The history of the Jewish people begins with Abraham, and the story of Abraham begins when G-d tells him to leave his homeland, promising Abraham and his descendants a new home in the land of Canaan. (Gen. 12). This is the land now known as Israel, named after Abraham's grandson, whose descendants are the Jewish people. The land is often referred to as the Promised Land because of G-d's repeated promise (Gen. 12:7, 13:15, 15:18, 17:8) to give the land to the descendants of Abraham.

The land is described repeatedly in the Torah as a good land and "a land flowing with milk and honey" (e.g., Ex. 3:8). This description may not seem to fit well with the desert images we see on the nightly news, but let's keep in mind that the land was repeatedly abused by conquerors who were determined to make the land uninhabitable for the Jews. In the few decades since the Jewish people regained control of the land, we have seen a tremendous improvement in its agriculture. Israeli agriculture today has a very high yield.

Jews have lived in this land continuously from the time of its original conquest by Joshua more than 3200 years ago until the present day, though Jews were not always in political control of the land, and Jews were not always the majority of the land's population.

The land of Israel is central to Judaism. A substantial portion of Jewish law is tied to the land of Israel, and can only be performed there. Some rabbis have declared that it is a mitzvah (commandment) to take possession of Israel and to live in it (relying on Num. 33:53). The Talmud indicates that the land itself is so holy that merely walking in it can gain you a place in the World to Come. Prayers for a return to Israel and Jerusalem are included in daily prayers as well as many holiday observances and special events.

Living outside of Israel is viewed as an unnatural state for a Jew. The world outside of Israel is often referred to as "galut," which is usually translated as "diaspora" (dispersion), but a more literal translation would be "exile" or "captivity." When we live outside of Israel, we are living in exile from our land.

Jews were exiled from the land of Israel by the Romans in 135 C.E., after they defeated the Jews in a three-year war, and Jews did not have any control over the land again until 1948 C.E.

DEAL IS DONE!!!!

Gilad Shalit will be going home = so will 1,000 Palestinians prisoners!!!!

A deal was reached in Egypt with Hamas and Israel for the trade. A German was the mediator brokering the exchange. This can only make Palestine look even better with their bid for statehood. Sends a message that Hamas is also cooperating.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/oc ... sfeed=true

Now, would the Jews release 1,000 "terrorists" if they really thought they were terrorists?? Don't think so.

No way munchkin. I stand by my stand that no soldier should be swopped for terrorists.

Name calling doesn't help your position either!

Tony Orlando, whose "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" became an anthem for people waiting for loved ones in military service, helped welcome members of an Air Force Reserve unit back home from Iraq (news - web sites).

After Orlando and his band entertained at a gathering for members of the 442nd Fighter Wing, the commander, Col. Patrick Cord, presented the 59-year-old singer with a unit ball cap and a flight jacket embroidered with his name and the "Let's Roll" insignia.

In 1973, "Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Ole Oak Tree" resonated with many as Americans celebrated the return of POWs at the end of the Vietnam War.

At the Cotton Bowl that year, Orlando and comedian Bob Hope (news) welcomed home more than 580 Americans who had been imprisoned in Vietnam.

"'Tie a Yellow Ribbon' hadn't reached No. 1 yet, but Bob Hope told me, 'They're going to be singing that song for a long time,'" Orlando said.

"The first line tells the story, 'I'm coming home, I've done my time,'" he said. "The yellow ribbon has become a symbol of homecoming, freedom and hope."
Let us all remember those serving their Country PAST and present

I believe I have earned the right to gloat. You'll excuse me for this uncharacteristic display - but we should be happy that mothers are going to be reunited with children..

Yesterday I said to BM
shafique wrote:Interestingly, 63% of Israeli Jews disagree with you and agree with Shalit's mother that Israel should release the women and children etc.

I'll revisit your post when Shalit is released in a prisoner exchange.

The post in question?
Bethsmum wrote:Israel will not, and should not, exchange a soldier for 1000 murders and terrorists.

:D :D

event horizon wrote:It shows whose minds inhabit reality whose don't.

;) (Borrowed from another thread - but relevant here, despite being a bit awkwardly phrased)

Israel did listen to the 63% - and the question still remains, why did it take them 5 years and a war to get him released?

Cheers,

At least he looks alive and well. The last time I think Israel did an exchange it was for two soldiers which were returned in coffins - Israel did not know if they were dead or alive before the swap and just wanted them back.
Seems crazy that it took them this long to determine it was the right thing to do.

You're gloating over the fact that people have been seperated from their families for years?

Just how sad are you?

Get a life.

I'm gloating at the massive "egg" on your face.

I'm definitely glad that all the people are being released now that Israel has taken up the offer Hamas made in 2006.

:D

Through my egg I can see that you need to go out and get a life sunshine.

How anyone can gloat over prisoners of war is beyond me.

Still I can see you need to get your 10 minutes of glory, daily, somewhere. Just a shame it has to be on an internet forum.

Are you sure can see through the egg? ;)

Why don't you join us in welcoming the release of all the prisoners - as we have advocated all along.

Stop being such a sour p.uss. It came as no surprise to anyone that you didn't know what you were talking about on this subject.

You should have tried reading what was written then. When you've calmed down, try it.

Then join us in welcoming the exchange of prisoners that you were so convinced would never happen.

Remind me again as to why you are gloating?

Did you have any input on the negotiations? Was it down to you that the release of Gilad Shalit is imminent?

No, I thought not. You are seeking your 10 minutes of glory because you sat behind a keyboard and repeated that most Israelis wanted him released. I disagreed and said I thought he shouldn't be swopped for terrorists.
For the record, I still think he shouldn't be swopped for 1000 Palestinians but I'm glad for him and for his family but I also worry for the safety of other Israelis when 1000 prisoners, some of which have been tried and convicted of crimes against Israel, are back on the streets.

So are you satisfied, you insignificant little man, sitting somewhere in the Indian Ocean?
You can gloat away till your little heart is content.

I'm gloating at the egg on your face - I even quoted your post saying Israel would NEVER do what the majority of Israelis wanted yesterday, and today he is released (and I said I'd revisit your post when that happened). I really couldn't have been clearer.

And yes, I'm enjoying your squirming immensely - the timing is just delicious.
