Living in Bahrain anyone? Mar 28, 2006
I know, this is not the forum for Bahrain but it would be nice to get some information about Bahrain if anyone have been there, lived there or worked there.

We are moving there soon, but really would like to know how the standard of living there is like. Child-friendly? Schools? Shops? Parks? Expensive?

Would really appreciate your feedback. Thank you in advance.

Although never lived there I’ve been a few times for work, love it. Actually, if I ever getting around to having a family I would raise them in Bahrain over Dubai. It is comparable to Dubai for costs, although rent is considerably cheaper, taxis and internet, etc. are more expensive. It gives a nice friendly vibe with lots of quirky little cafes and the like. There is way more night life in Dubai but there are a couple places to go in Bahrain as well.

The forum below is specific to cars but is Bahrain based, if you search it you may find some good info on Bahrain.

Thanks Fayz. Do you know if there are any expat communities there? I've heard a lot about expats in Dubai but not much in Bahrain.

I'm not aware of any expat community groups but I'm sure there are, the percentage of Expats is similar to here, i'd guess about 80% from all over. which nationality are you?

We are British, living in Hong Kong. HK is full of expats so it's easy for newcomers to get to know new places with new people. The reason I asked is that if there are expats around Bahrain, then it'll be convenient for us. So, we get the idea about their experience on the way things are there.
