why don't you try short stay apartments in Dubai instead of Cheap Dubai Hotels. I always find them a much better option.

You can find cheap hotels in Deira area but most of the hotels in Deira are good for bachelors and not suitable for families with small kids due to increased in prostitution in hotels and surronding areas.

You now have the Easy hotels, starting at about 99Dhs a night.

there are loads of cheap ones in karama or burdubai areas...check!
